Usborne Learning Palette®I recently received my new box of Usborne Books, and in it was the Learning Palette with a set of Learning Palette Mathematics Cards. Out of 19 items in the box, my daughter (5 years old) went for the Learning Palette first! She was anxious to unwrap it, so I helped her and we sat on the floor together learning how to use it and then actually answering the "questions" on several cards. I was very impressed. What is the Learning Palette? It is a colorful learning tool with no battery-operated bells or whistles. This is old-fashioned learning! My daughter has recently begun to skip count, learn about ordinal numbers, and count backward and forward. The Learning Palette allowed her to engage in some valuable review without her even knowing that "review" was taking place. After awhile, my 3rd grade son came in and, despite saying he did not want to play, he ended up on the floor with us doing some cards more geared toward his abilities! You might be interested to know that The Learning Palette is a product of Learning Wrap-ups. The cards, which work with the Learning Palette base, cover concepts from geometry to algebra, and early reading to word usage for grades 1, 2, and 3. The Learning Palette base and Learning Palette cards are both essential components of the Learning Palette system. They are sold separately. Each card set includes 12 cards.
