Make Your Own Dollhouse

My daughter and I have been working on making our own doll house. The house does not show up as very 3D in the pictures, but it is level on the wall and it does have depth!

We used a light-weight shelf that is 27 inches tall, 11 inches deep, and 18 inches across. It was divided into two sections. First we glued in pieces of wallpaper samples cut to fit the walls. We then drew pictures of windows and a fire place and glued them inside and then used a clear decopage coating to secure them into place. We also drew a pretty rug and used the same process to fix it to the floor.

We then began colleting various pieces of furniture and people to decorate with.

Here are our pictures:

1) The entire house, attached to the wall with screws. Make sure you do this securely and make sure your child won't try to climb on the house and get hurt.

2) Here is the upper room of the house:

3) Here is the lower room of the house:

Have fun!
