Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls

Bread Machine Dough

I make this dough in a 1.5 lb capacity bread maker (Sunbeam) that has a dough setting.

  • 1/3 cup water at about 80 degrees
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened and cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2-1/2 tsp bread machine yeast

~Make sure your bread machine has kneading attachment in place.
~Place ingredients into the pan in the order listed above. See note below BEFORE adding yeast.
~NOTE: Once flour is added, make a small indentation in the top/side of flour where you can put your yeast so it will NOT touch the liquid ingredients underneath.
~Carefully insert your bread pan into bread maker and gently close the lid.
~Plug in machine and choose the dough setting.
~Let the bread machine do its thing!

Cinnamon Rolls

Filling: 2 tablespoons of cinnamon and 2/3 cup sugar.

Frosting: Powdered sugar, milk, vanilla. Use enough powdered sugar to make enough frosting to your liking--light or heavy! Add milk to the powdered sugar by the tablespoon, as it turns the sugar into a liquid quickly!! Add 1 tsp of vanilla.

Roll the dough into a square about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. (You can use a bit more flour if you need to, but not too much!) Spread with softened butter. Mix cinammon and sugar together in a bowl or shake jar. Sprinkle the dough with it. You can add chopped nuts if you like. Roll up tightly. Cut "slices" of this roll to make your cinnamon rolls. Place the rolls side by side in a greased or sprayed 9x12 pan. Bake at 325 degrees for glass dish, 350 degrees for metal pan, for 20 minutes or so. You can check the center of one with a fork to see if it's done. Do not overbake! You don't want them to be dry. Ice with the frosting as soon as they come out of oven.

Yum!
